Hello Friends and Cookies go Bragh …. Yup, I stole the famous Irish expression “Erin go Bragh” and changed it. If I’m honest, I must admit I had to look up its meaning (I know, shameful for a Reilly), but I had no idea it means Ireland Forever…Naturally my first thought was……

Cookies Forever!

This St. Patrick’s Day, The Bashful Bakester is featuring three delicious ways to treat yourself or someone you love to some homemade yummy goodness.

    1. Chocolate cupcakes with a tasty mint buttercream frosting adorned with an Andes Chocolate Mint and sold in 6's.

2. A set including decorated Sugar cookie and simple sugar cookie of the same design in a clear treat bag decorated with green curling ribbon.... Kids LOVE this gift.

Thank you!

Christmas is officially over and the New Year has begun...and with it goes my favorite time of the year: Christmas baking season. The one time in 365 days when no one ever questions the baking of cookies in excess. It's the absolute best time of year!

I just wanted to come on here and take a moment to thank everyone who purchased from me this holiday season (and throughout 2019), whether that be by a cookie platter or cupcakes. I truly appreciate all of your support, and hope you enjoyed your goodies. Cookies make every gathering better, and I can only wish that mine made each of your holidays a little brighter and sweeter.

Now, of course, this was my maiden voyage in cookie platters, so no doubt there are things I could improve upon. If you were a customer this year and have any requests for the future, don't hesitate to drop me a DM on Instagram or Facebook, or write me a quick email. I'm always open to suggestions on what types of cookies I should make or how to improve the ordering process. I would definitely love to hear from you!

Also, I just want to mention that all the cookies that were on the platters this year will be available all year round. So, if you have a sudden craving, or an event to go to, any of these cookies can be ordered at any time. The cutesy snowmen and snowflakes (shown below) are also available to order throughout the winter months (now through March) as well.

I truly had the best time baking for you all this past year, and hope you will give me the pleasure of doing so in the upcoming new year. If I can help bring even a simple smile to someone's face through my goodies than I feel I've made a difference.

Hope you all had a merry Christmas, and here's to a happy, healthy 2020!

Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

The Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies that are offered on the cookie platters this year are an old family recipe. In case you are wondering why they have sprinkles on them I thought I would tell you. When my husband, John was young, his grandmother who was from Germany made him two very special desserts. One of them was chocolate junket, it's like pudding but not as thick. And the other -- Chocolate Chip Cookies. They showed up to every occasion, and every Christmas John and his 5 siblings got a box of those special cookies for their very own. They quickly hid them away so that no one else would dip into their treasure box. She never made those cookies without putting multi colored sprinkles on them, which to me is a wink to kids everywhere. John's Grandmother lived to be 100 years old. And her chocolate chip cookies live on as Emma has incorporated them into her repertoire.  So when we think Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies we think "Nana cookies" with sprinkles on top. We do hope you enjoyed a little taste of "Nana cookies" this Christmas.
